About Me:
I’m Clara Halmageanu, an 18-year-old Freeride mountain biker from Germany, near Stuttgart. In just two and a half years, I’ve progressed to riding massive jumps, landing tricks like Cliffhangers, Superman-Seatgraps and Cannonballs. I am pushing my own limits while breaking barriers for women in the freeride scene. I’m aiming for milestones like Swatch Nines and Darkfest, while inspiring the next generation of female riders.
I first got into riding in the start of 2023 after a twist of fate, where my roadbike was stolen and my father bought me my first mountainbike instead. What started as an accident quickly turned into a bless and a passion that defined my life ever since.
In just two and a half years, I’ve made a lot of progress because of hard work. I know what I’m capable of, and I’m confident, that I have what it takes to achieve my goals.
I’ve already learned tricks that almost no woman are doing. Some of them are for example the Cliffhanger, Superman- Seatgrab and the Cannonball. I also hit some pretty massive jumps, up to 22 meters. Another milestone I have achieved, was landing a Suicide- Nohander over a 15m double, wich very few female riders have attempted on features of this dimension. In conclusion, my riding style is rooted in oldschool freeride, with big jumps and stylisch tricks, but I’m always looking to evolve. This winter, I’m working on adding new moves to my bag of tricks. For example backflips.
I’m also proud to say that I’ve been the first female to clear the final jump on the Hotshots line in Leogang, as well as the first female rider to complete the Werksline at Bikepark Wissen. These achievements motivated me to keep raising the bar and to continue proving what’s possible.
For me, freeride isn’t only about reaching personal milestones. It’s about constantly pushing my own limits while also challenging the limits that others place on women in this sport. I want to prove that female riders are capable of more than what’s expected, and show that progression has no gender.
What motivates me, is my passion for this sport: I truly LOVE mountainbiking. What I enjoy the most, is meeting new people, visiting new places and sharing the joy of riding. I’m extremely ambitious. When I set myself a goal, I give everything to achieve it, and I know that if I want something bad enough, I will make it happen.
I was already part of several local contests, such as in Bikepark Pfulling, but also in Wissen or even the Evo Bikepark in France, gaining valuable experience in competition. So I’m really exited to visit different places and travel along the world for these events.
Whenever I ride, I also motivate people around me, to push themselves and progress. Encouraging others has always been part of who I am, and it brings me joy to see others get better. With greater reach and the right support, I know I could inspire and uplift even more people, especially younger female riders, and help bringing energy into the community.
As you can probably tell from how I look, purple has become my signature color. It’s part of my identity and part of my personal brand. It’s something people can instantly recognize me by.
My vision is growing into a professional freeride athlete:
To take part in major events, including aiming for opportunities like the Swatch Nines, Rampage or even the Darkfest
To create high- level video projects, that inspire and entertain
To expand my presence on social media and launch a YouTube channel to share my journey.
To keep developing as a rider by pushing my limits further every season
I want to be the first woman, to land tricks on massive jumps, that no female rider has ever done before. By doing so, I aim to break barriers, expand what’s considered possible and help shaping the future of freeride for woman.
For me, it’s not just about riding, It’s about building something bigger, making freeride more exciting, and inspiring progress in the sport as I continue to grow.
